Amlib’s unique parameter framework enables your library to easily tailor the appearance and operation of Amlib. Importantly, customisation parameters are easily configured by libraries using the Amlib Supervisor module. Parameters across the entire system allow libraries to choose which functions to implement and customise to suit their operational requirements. Examples of Amlib parameters that are easily customised are: screen layouts, security roles, barcode check digits, marc tags, circulation sound events, and layout of notices (too many to list within this space!) The Amlib Web Client and OPAC offers the ability to extensively customise each screen with your own text, colours, logos, and help messages, as well as operating with different system language sets simultaneously. |
For maximum interoperability with other library databases, devices and systems Amlib complies with a wide of library and technology standards: Library standards include: Marc21, MarcXML, Z39.50, SIP2, NCIP and RFID Technology standards include: ODBC, OLE, SQL, SMTP, MAPI, XML and HTML |
With Amlib, customers choose the n-Tier architecture platform that best suits their requirements. These include: Fully Web Based Library Management Amlib is available as a total web based solution across all management modules and OPACS. Based on Amlib’s Thin Client Architecture the Amlib Web Modules (also known as AmlibNet) are hosted on a Windows web server and reduce the cost of administration by no longer having to deploy library applications to each desktop. Secure access to all Amlib modules can be provided using a Web Browser, with the System Administrator able to customise the display using their favourite HTML editor. … Or Windows Client Server Architecture For libraries that wish to operate their library system within a Windows Client/Server environment Amlib’s Client/Server Management modules enable operation of Amlib as a native 2 tier client server application. The Amlib Windows Client provide high performance-distributed processing, integration to other desktop applications and an intuitive, easy to use interface. The Amlib Windows client is also compatible with Citrix and Windows Terminal Server. |
